in Argyll by Wine Woman and Song

I teach music lessons, wine tasting and wine Intermediate and Advanced Certificate Levels.

Originally starting trading in 2000, Wine Woman and Song encompasses some of my greatest passions in life. It becomes difficult to draw a line between business and pleasure when it comes to sharing the enjoyment of music with others, be it performing or teaching.

Music Lessons, Performance and Wine Tasting

Music Lessons

Do you say you wish you had learned to play, or carried on playing an instrument? Here is your opportunity.

I am able to teach classical or modern piano playing.

You will need a keyboard or piano to practice on, but enjoyment is my first priority. If you wish to take examinations then I will assist in choosing the right examination body for your interests and will teach you to grade 8 standard. I am happy to assist you in choosing your keyboard, if you do not have anything.

If you wish to come to me, I have a dedicated music room especially for teaching, writing and playing. Living in Argyll I will travel to you if you live within a ½ hour radius and the lesson cost will increase slightly to include travel.

My standard rates are:
£30 per hour
£15 per half-hour.

Wine Tasting

Having found out that you could do qualifications in wine, I was very excited and thought that this would give me a good excuse for the odd tipple. Please be aware that having done the courses, I am more fickle with the wines I purchase, although, by no means am I a wine snob!

I achieved a Diploma in Wine when I was well into my 30’s and one of my class was over retirement age so it is never too late to start.

I lecture, write columns, teach qualifications and lead evenings in wine and wine tasting.

I also arrange tours of local vineyards and trips abroad.

About Me

I qualified in music at a young age, starting piano lessons before reading. It can be said that English is a second language to me, and music my first. I studied piano under Dame Clarice Brooksbank and attended a school that encouraged my talent.

Over the years I have gained several diplomas, I now teach music and play professionally. If you are interested in either joining me to form a new group of like-minded musicians, where music is enjoyed, and not a chore, or for lessons please feel free to contact me.

In 1989 I attended a wine tasting and discovered that you can actually become qualified in wine. What better or more enjoyable form could revision take than a glass of wine? Within a few years I had earned my diploma in wine, I found that between wine tasting, performing and teaching music are some of the best activities that life can offer.

I also lecture in wine, write columns, and conduct wine tasting evenings for fun or personal development. I teach the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Intermediate and Advanced Certificates as well as Diploma. For a different event, I can lead a tasting evening at your home designed around your likes and dislikes, or even open your eyes to wines that you may have otherwise not tried.
